The field question was proxemic rather than verbal. How much distance permits attention without pressure? When does approach become invitation, and when does it become intrusion?
The observation is retained as a relational question rather than a finished conclusion. Distance is not empty space between participants; it is one of the conditions through which an encounter becomes workable.
