The field record retains a quiet encounter around caretakers, alpacas, dogs, attention, and gesture. Without ordinary conversation carrying the exchange, gaze, patience, bodily orientation, and small adjustments became more consequential.
Silence did not empty the interaction of meaning. It redistributed the work of meaning across the available modalities.
