I had gone to La Candelaria to observe. The evening had other plans.
At La Candelaria Centro Cultural in Barranco, the field began as observation: entrances, exits, transitions, mistakes, rhythm, gaze, posture, distance, hesitation, and movement.
Then the observer was publicly identified as Indian, pulled onstage, handed an India flag, and invited into the performance. What had been watched from outside became something that now required an embodied response.
